NEUROLOGICAL REHABILITATION
Neurology is the branch of medicine that deals with the nervous system and its diseases. Rehabilitation through Occupational Therapy means a multi-faceted approach to problems:
Reassessment of capabilities and progress are continued on a regular basis to determine gains made and to prevent problems from developing. Preventative measures such as splinting (custom made or prefabricated) and positioning must be utilized to eliminate contractures, deformity, skin breakdown or other secondary problems. Conditions managed include Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, cerebral vascular accident CVA (STROKE), Guillain-Barre Syndrome, Head Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease and Spinal Cord Injury. |
